Your photo is yours.
Refine is built so that the most private thing you give it, a picture of your face, is gone the moment it has been read. This page says exactly what happens and what does not.
Your photo
The photo is resized in your browser and sent once to our server, which forwards it to a vision model for analysis. It is held in memory only for the duration of that request. It is not saved to disk, not written to any database, not logged, and not used to train or improve any model.
Face landmarks are computed on your own device and never leave it. They exist only so the result screen can point at the right part of the photo.
What we do collect
Anonymous usage analytics: which pages are visited, whether an analysis completed or failed, and which product card was clicked. No photo, no facial data and no personal identifier is attached to these events.
A hashed form of your IP address, kept briefly, so that we can rate-limit abuse. It cannot be turned back into your address and is not linked to a photo.
If you choose to email yourself your list, your email address is used once to send that message and is not added to any list.
Third parties
The vision model is provided by OpenAI under terms that do not permit them to train on data sent through the API. Hosting and analytics are provided by Vercel. Abuse protection uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which may set a cookie to remember that you are not a bot. Product links go to Amazon, whose own privacy policy applies once you leave this site.
Cookies
Refine sets no cookies of its own. The only cookie that may be set is the Cloudflare one described above.
